Sleeping four guests across two luxurious bedrooms, one king and 2 singles. All set out with the comfiest beds and the addition of a beautifully appointed bathroom. All rooms come with wonderful views of the tranquil village and expansive North Yorkshire countryside, with Sue & Paul the Owners lovingly transforming Broomfield Cottage into the perfect escape for a combination for rest and relaxation.

THE SPACE

This light and airy cottage boasts comfortable facilities for a relaxing escape to North Yorkshire to explore the hidden gems. The living space invites you to relax on the comfy sofas by the antique fireplace. Take a seat and curl up with a good book or enjoy your favourite movie on the Smart TV. Or for the younger or more energetic guests why not enjoy the Xbox!

The cottage style kitchen/diner has everything you need to rustle up tasty suppers or Sunday lunches using the wonderful Yorkshire ingredients you can find in local farm shops. The practicalities are taken care of too boasting an 8-ring range style cooker, full size fridge freezer, microwave and a washing machine.

There is also an addition of a handy downstairs cloakroom with WC.

On the first floor you are greeted by light and airy interiors. The master bedroom with views out across Main Street has a large king-size bed taking centre stage, adorned with comfy linens and mattresses, making this the perfect place to rest your head.

Across the quaint landing you will find the delightful twin bedroom, with 2 comfy single beds and plenty of storage for two!

Also, on the first floor you will find a family bathroom complete with large walk-in shower.

Each bedroom comes with Hairdryer, full length or wall mirror, wardrobe/hanging or chest of drawers for storage of clothes.

A travel cot and highchair are available for guests wishing to bring along children under 2.

THE LOCAL AREA

Broomfield Cottage is quite literally situated on the very edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, which stretches across much of North Yorkshire over both countryside and coastline and is a truly spectacular National Park that offers something for everyone. The cottage is also a short distance away from many other hidden gems including the East Coast- Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey and Bridlington. The famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway located at Pickering is just a short 5-minute drive from the cottage and the train takes you direct to Whitby, travelling through the beautiful scenic North York Moors. (Dogs can also travel with you at a small additional cost).

The cottage also lies a short drive from Eden Camp, Dalby Forest and Flamingo Land. Helmsley (a beautiful market town) is a 20-minute drive from the cottage, where you can join the Cleveland Way walking trail, visit Helmsley Castle and the beautiful Walled Garden, or enjoy mooching around the lovely local shops.

Situated just 25 miles north of the City of York you are also perfectly placed to head into the City to experience the culture of the Minster, museums, galleries and the ancient City walls. Or if your passion is food, you’ll find many excellent independent bars and restaurants to discover.  The City of York is brimming with history and culture. Take a walk along the castle walls or head to York Minster for some truly jaw dropping architecture, followed by a wander around the cobbled streets with beautiful architecture to admire and independent boutiques to peruse.

Sutton Bank is only a short drive away and perfect for mountain biking, walk to the famous of the White Horse or to watch the Gliders taking off. Idyllic Hovingham, holds an excellent monthly food market along with local weekly markets held at many towns to include Pickering, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Thirsk (famous for James Herriot). The beautiful market town of Malton holds a monthly food market and is known for being the food capital of the North, lying just a 20-minute drive from the cottage.

The property is also surrounded by wonderful places to dine out, such as in the villages of Olstead and Harome, which are each a short drive away or more locally Pickering hosts an array of lovely eating houses along with take away premises. You can find many village public houses serving hearty Yorkshire pub grub and the village of Wrelton itself has the renowned Buck Inn positioned at the heart of this quaint village.
