Lovely cottage very homely Very grateful to the kindness we received when my father took ill and had to stay in hospital over night.

We had a lovely week staying at Moor Cottage. It was easy to find and in a great location. Parking was never a problem as we were able to park outside. The cottage is beautiful, very well equipped and lots of space. Beds were really comfortable and there are two great bathrooms. The garden was a lovely place to sit out in each morning and evening. Would love to return!

We loved our stay at Moorside Cottage! The cottage was spacious, well-equipped and very clean. While the village Ampleforth is not large, there are two restaurants and a coffee shop on the same street, and we were 10 minutes away from Helmsley, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. We were close to many sites in Yorkshire, including Whitby, York, and Harrogate. The cottage is beautifully decorated and had everything you need to make simple meals. We had a very peaceful stay. There is a lovely garden that we didn't get to enjoy because it was frequently wet outside (and there is so much to do in the area). We definitely recommend Moorside Cottage and would love to return.

We had a lovely long weekend stay at the Cottage. Everything was perfect, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Ampleforth is a lovely quiet village, with a shop for any essentials needed. We had a delicious Sunday lunch at the White Horse Inn and it was only a short drive to Helmsley for takeaways. We enjoyed visits to Helmsley Castle, Helmsley Walled Gardens, Rievaulx Abbey, Ryedale Folk Museum and Eden Camp. We highly recommend Moorside Cottage.

This is by far the best place to stay in lovely Ampleforth village! The warm homey feeling can be felt immediately after you first open the door, with a pristine and decorated with taste and evidently with TLC! You have EVERYTHING you need in the house and everything in it is clean and beautiful. The ground floor has a very comfy drawing room with books and a TV and large comfortable sofas and armchairs, a separated perfect size dining room, a full bathroom with a bathtub & shower and WC, a very beautiful and natural light filled kitchen extremely well equiped, and a boot room that has separate washer drier machines, big sink and extra storage room with ironing table and iron and a rack to dry your clothes in the sun in the beautiful little backyard garden with two sets of table&chairs to enjoy the fresh air in comfort. The first floor has three very confortable bedrooms and a very large second fully equiped bathroom. Two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. All new with immaculate

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage, it is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect in a beautiful village with two lovely pubs, a great café and surrounded by lovely walks. Communication with the host was rapid and they even dropped off a fire guard for us. Overall I would highly recommend this cottage and we would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you for helping us have the most perfect Christmas

Easy to find and to gain access. Fantastic plus that we were able to get
in an hour earlier than check in so we got there in daylight. The cottage
was immaculate, beautiful decor and fantastic layout and space. The beds
were extremely comfortable. The kitchen cupboards had everything we needed
in terms of table ware, glasses, pots / pans etc.
It was too cold for sitting out in the garden but it looked like it would
be lovely in the warmer months.
Location was perfect, right in the centre of Ampleforth and close to the
White Horse pub and village shop. Also added benefit of being able to get a
bus in to Helmsley.

Great little cottage which has space for 5 people (6 at a push), in a quiet and pretty village at the foot of the North York moors. Plenty to do and see in the area and the village offers 2 coffee shops and 2 pubs. The property has all the amenities required and we were greeted by a really nice welcome package on arrival. Parking outside the property wasn't a problem, the road is reasonably busy during the day, but quiet at night.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Yorkshire cottage. The house was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The welcome pack was a wonderfully thoughtful addition. A perfect base for exploring the surrounding towns, villages and countryside Ampleforth is a picture perfect yorkshire village, with 2 lovely pubs/restaurants 1 min walk away. We would happily return and recommend it to anyone.

Rieke Stayed: October 2024
The cottage was very well thought out, nicely and sympathetically designed and decorated inside and out, the beds were comfortable (a very important thing). There are steps in and out. The best thing was a pub doing food a minutes walk away on the same side and a very nice café about the same distance on the other side. The locals were also very friendly. Win win! 5 stars.

We can thoroughly recommend Moorside Cottage. It is a beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped cottage, in a lovely setting. We only had a weekend stay but would definitely stay longer if we are back in the area. We arrived on a busy weekend when the village hosted a major cycle race, but had no problem parking on the road outside the cottage. The little welcome hamper was a lovely surprise! Thank you!

Excellent!
“We had a wonderful week at Moorside Cottage with our 11-year old grandson. It was the perfect place to be in the lovely village of Ampleforth with its excellent pub (The White Horse) and cafe (Hearts of Ampleforth), both literally a few steps from the cottage and well away from the crowds closer to the coast.
Moorside Cottage is comfortable, charming and well equipped to a high standard. It has everything you need and more (just know it doesn't stock more than salt, pepper, oil, sugar, tea and coffee so come prepared if you plan on cooking). The back garden was perfect in the wonderful weather to sit and relax after exploring North Yorkshire.
We have stayed in many fabulous holiday rentals but rate Moorside Cottage as one of the best. The ease of communication with the property managers, the seamless ingress and egress, the high standard of the cottage itself all made for a very positive experience. 5 Stars!”

Thank you to Alison and Chris we would move to return.
