The Engine House is a distinguished Grade II listed property, dating back to the 18th century, nestled on the outskirts of the charming village of Embsay, located in the heart of North Yorkshire, adjacent to the scenic North Yorkshire Dales and the local market town of Skipton.

Originally a functioning mill that produced metal spindles for the cotton industry, it played a vital role during the Second World War by packing cotton and tobacco and manufacturing shell cases. Unfortunately, the property fell into disrepair during the 1960s. In 1975, the Crown Spindle Mill and The Engine House were thoughtfully converted into a residential property, later transforming into a delightful holiday home.

The original 120-foot stone mill chimney remains a striking feature in the grounds, visible from the master suite.

Sleeping two this stunning property is your perfect escape to the country!

THE SPACE

Spanning three floors, The Engine House offers breath-taking views of the stunning surrounding countryside. The meticulously designed interior provides ample space, making it an ideal retreat for two. The open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area is filled with original exquisite features while maintaining a warm, homely charm, equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay.

On the first floor, you will discover a beautifully appointed master suite. The super king bed is the focal point, adorned with charming original beams and a warm, inviting colour palette. French doors lead to a private balcony, complete with a table and chairs—an idyllic spot to savour your morning coffee or enjoy stargazing while taking in the serene views.

On the lower ground floor, an exceptionally luxurious bathroom awaits, featuring a spacious walk-in shower, a separate double-ended bath, and the pièce de resistance: a private sauna.

Outside, you will find a secluded courtyard equipped with additional seating, perfect for alfresco dining.

Secure private parking is available for guests, and we warmly welcome your furry companions to join you during your stay.

Babies in arms welcome.
